Loudoun County supervisor stripped of committee assignments

Hank Silverberg, wtop.com

WASHINGTON – The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors is taking action against one of its own members after allegations surfaced that he misappropriated county funds.

Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio will not receive any committee assignments for 2013, which will diminish his role on the board.

DelGaudio, R-Sterling, is under investigation for allegedly using his county-paid staffer for campaign fundraising on county time. He has claimed the money was for a youth football league.

County Democrats continue to criticize Board Chairman Scott York for not acting sooner on the allegations, which first surfaced 10 months ago.
