WASHINGTON – Redskins fans are hoping for a happy new year in the playoffs, and possibly the Superbowl.
If the team wins its next two games, beating the Eagles on the road and the Cowboys at home, FedEx Field would host a wild card game in January.
The Redskins haven’t been to the playoffs since the 2007 season when the team lost in Seattle, and it hosted a playoff game since the 20th century.
That was in 1999 when the ‘Skins beat the Lions.
If there is a wild card game at FedEx Field next month, season ticket holders would get the first chance to buy tickets. They would have until Dec. 27 to reserve them.
The team says for almost 95 percent of season ticket holders, general admission ticket prices for a postseason game would be the same price as regular season tickets.
“We appreciate the support of our great fans and wanted to make sure ticket prices for our potential Wild Card playoff game would be affordable,” said Redskins General Manager Bruce Allen.
Leftover tickets to the game would go on sale to the general public Dec. 29.
