Fairfax Co. won’t hike taxes in Tysons Corner, for now

WASHINGTON – A major hike in real estate taxes won’t take place in Tysons Corner, at least for now.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors delayed a final decision on a tax a special service tax district after receiving complaints from homeowners. The complaints came during a two-hour public hearing.

The aim of a special district would be to raise hundreds of millions of dollars for transportation improvements and construction in Tysons Corner.

The board will take the issue up at its Jan. 8 meeting.
