Harris Teeter heads to Clarksburg

Harris Teeter has signed on as the anchor tenant for Clarksburg Village Center, a 109,000-square-foot neighborhood shopping center in Clarksburg.

Harris Teeter will build out a 53,000-square-foot store under its “flagship store” model, which is calls its current top-of-the-line grocery and pharmacy retail offering. Work on the store will start in February. It is expected to open next October.

“We are thrilled to have Harris Teeter as the anchor store in our new center,” said Jack Waghorn, president of NVRetail, which is developing Clarksburg Village Center with Elm Street Development. “The pace of leasing of the small shops is beyond our expectation because of Harris Teeter’s presence at the center.”

Clarksburg Village Center is at the intersection of Newcut Road and Snowden Farm Parkway.

Harris Teeter currently has 24 Washington-area stores with several other leases for new locations signed.
