Man admits to home declawing of kittens

WASHINGTON – A man who pulled the claws out of two of his daughter’s kittens has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty charges.

Washington City Paper reports Eric Gaskin, 39, pleaded guilty to two cruelty counts on Tuesday.

Gaskin, who was arrested in September, faces up to a year in jail on the charges.

The Washington Humane Society has called the case one of the worst it has ever seen. The Humane Society says each of the kittens had four broken legs as a result of the declawing.

The kittens were examined by a veterinarian, and it was determined they had to be euthanized.
