D.C. man sentenced for killing puppy with cement slab

WASHINGTON – A man who killed a sleeping puppy with a cement slab last summer was sentenced to 120 days in prison on Tuesday, according to a news release.

Sean Delontay Branch, 24, pleaded guilty in September to killing 6-month-old King Tut, who was tied to a fence behind the Circle Seven Express store in Northeast when Branch dropped a 90-pound cement slab on him in June. Branch said he was angry with the dog’s owner and killed the animal when the owner walked away.

When the owner returned, the dog was dead.

In addition to serving prison time, Branch will be on probation for three years, learn anger management techniques and pay a $450 fine.
