5 teens charged as adults in Metro station stabbing

WASHINGTON – Four teenagers are being charged as adults in connection with a deadly stabbing at the Woodley Park Metro station.

The suspects are all 17 years old, and are all charged with armed robbery.

A fifth teen is charged as an adult with murder in the death 18-year-old Olijawon Griffin on Nov. 17th.

The suspects facing armed robbery charges will likely make their first court appearance Tuesday.

D.C. police say Griffin was robbed several blocks from the Metro station and later got into an altercation with the robbery suspects at the Metro station.

The teen charged with murder tells police he stabbed Griffin in self-defense, but denies being involved in the robbery.

A total of nine juveniles were charged in the incident.
