Arlington officials warn of possible sewage release

WASHINGTON – The Arlington County Department of Environmental Services warns that sewage from a private building possibly was released into the storm drain system.

Officials urged residents and their pets Wednesday to avoid contact with the water in Doctors Branch stream from Alcova Heights Park, at South 8th Street and George Mason Drive, to Four Mile Run at Barcroft Park. It will take several days to allow the stream to flush away any sewage.
