Arlington: Garvey returned to County Board; all bond issues pass

WASHINGTON – Voters have returned Democratic incumbent Libby Garvey to the Arlington County Board.

Garvey took of the vote in the three-way race, defeating Republican Matt Wavro and Green Party candidate Audrey Clement.

All local bond issues easily passed in Arlington, including the largest, a $50.5 million for parks and recreation.

Most of that money will go toward an indoor aquatics center at Long Bridge Park.

Voters also passed a $42.6 million bond for school projects and a $31.9 million bond for Metro and other transportation needs.

The smallest bond on the ballot was for $28.3 million for community infrastructure.
