Building worker injured after falling down elevator shaft

WASHINGTON – A building worker is recovering in the hospital after falling down an elevator shaft Wednesday morning.

It happened at 655 15th St. NW around 8:15 a.m.

D.C. Fire says the person fell less than one story, or about 10 feet, and is in stable condition.

Firefighters are working to pull the worker out.
