WASHINGTON – Police have opened a criminal investigation into allegations that the son of Rep. Jim Moran, D-Va. tried to assist someone to vote illegally.

The Arlington County police have opened the investigation into Patrick Moran.

Patrick Moran resigned Wednesday as a field director for his father’s campaign after a conservative group released an undercover video.

In the video, Patrick Moran expresses doubts about a plan proposed by the undercover operative to cast fraudulent votes. But Moran eventually tells the undercover volunteer working for Project Veritas to “look into it.”
