WFED’s weekend sports line-up

WASHINGTON – The Wizards close out preseason play this week against two of the NBA’s elite in the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs.

Both games will air on WFED 1500 AM and stream online.

The Navy Midshipmen are also in action this week as they visit East Carolina University. The Baltimore Ravens are off this week for their annual bye.

  • Wednesday, Oct. 24, 8:30 p.m. Wizards vs. Miami: The Wizards (2-4) face the defending NBA champion Miami Heat (4-2) Wednesday night from the Sprint Center in Kansas City.

    This will be the first ever NBA contest played at the five-year-old arena in downtown KC. The Sprint Center hosted an NHL preseason game in September 2011.

  • The Wizards will be seeking their second straight preseason win after Saturday’s 102-94 triumph in Milwaukee. As always, WTOP sports director and morning anchor Dave Johnson will be on the call, alongside color analyst Glenn Consor.
  • Friday, Oct. 26 8:30 p.m. Wizards @ San Antonio: The Wizards conclude preseason play Friday night against the two-time defending Southwest Division champion Spurs. San Antonio is 3-3 in preseason play, having won two of three games at the AT&T Center.
  • Saturday, Oct. 27, 3:30 p.m. Navy at East Carolina: The Midshipmen (4-3) seek their season-high fourth straight win as they visit the East Carolina Pirates (5-3) at 3:30 p.m. in Greenville, NC. Pregame coverage begins with the Navy Coaches Show at 1:30 p.m. followed by the official Navy Pregame Show at 2:30 p.m. with Bob Socci, Pete Medhurst and Omar Nelson.
