How to enjoy Halloween sweets, without the calorie regret

WASHINGTON – Halloween candy is everywhere, from homes to offices to the gym.

But how can people enjoy it without ruining their diets?

The secret lies in being picky.

Men’s Fitness Magazine reports that candy corn kernels are pure sugar. Even a handful amounts to several hundred calories. A Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup can pack 180 calories, with as much saturated fat as a fast-food hamburger.

But lollipops, like Dum-Dums, last longer and only have 20 calories each, with no fat.

Two mini peanut butter cups also do half the damage of a bigger one.

The mini-size of a 3 Musketeers candy bar only has 24 calories and a whole pack of Smarties is only 25 calories.
