D.C. Metro gas prices are falling, but very slowly

WASHINGTON – AAA Mid-Atlantic says gas prices in the D.C. area went down by just 1 cent from last week. The average price for a gallon of gas in the D.C. metro area is $3.73.

Nationally, gas prices fell 2 cents to $3.79.

AAA says while relief has been slow, gas prices are expected to fall for the remainder of the year.

In a news release, AAA says “The U.S. Energy Information Administration is forecasting that the average price of a gasoline nationally will be lower overall next year than it has for the past two years.”

Other gas analysts say there are too many variables to know for sure whether gas prices will be lower next week.
