Pepco, union reach tentative contract agreement

WASHINGTON – Pepco and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union have reached a tentative contract agreement, says Pepco spokeswoman Myra Oppel.

Pepco says the agreement is subject to a vote by the IBW’s local chapter, which is expected to come soon.

The IBW Local 1900 posted the following message on its website Sunday night:

After an all day session today, Sunday October 7th, Local 1900 and Pepco reached a tentative agreement on a four year contract.

Your committee will be working on publishing the details of the offer. Informational meetings will be scheduled with voting to be held on Pepco property.

As further information becomes available it will be posted on this site.

The agreement would prevent a potential strike.

WTOP will bring you more information as it become available.
