WASHINGTON – Email users with a verizon.net address may have had some trouble Monday.

Verizon has confirmed that about 6 percent of its customers in 12 states and D.C. had service interruptions Monday.

Spokesman Harry Mitchell says users now should be able to receive and send email again, but it could take a few days for old emails and other folders to be restored.

Mitchell says the disruption was caused by a hardware problem.
