Motorcyclist killed after colliding with truck in Wheaton

WASHINGTON – A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a truck early Saturday morning in Wheaton, Montgomery County police say.

The 31-year-old motorcyclist from District Heights, Md. was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured, police say.

Investigators say the 2013 freightliner box truck and 2002 Kawasaki motorcycle were driving north on Georgia Avenue when the motorcycle entered the truck lane and collided with the truck.

Investigators are asking witnesses to the crash who have not come forward to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at (240) 773-6620.
