Dad launches son’s toy train into space (VIDEO)

WASHINGTON – The sky is the limit when it comes this father, who launched his son’s favorite toy train into space.

“Stanley” was strapped to a weather balloon equipped with a high definition camera and an old cell phone for GPS. The train was found 27 miles away in a corn field, Ron Fugelseth wrote on his YouTube page.

“My 4-year-old and Stanley are inseparable like Calvin and Hobbes,” he said. “He’s been attached to him since he was 2 and they play, sleep and do everything together.”

Fugelseth, a California video producer, animated the train, which bears a close resemblance to Andy from “Toy Story.” It went approximately 18 miles into the sky, and then made its way safely back to earth.
