4 family members found dead at Herndon home

WASHINGTON – A family was found dead Tuesday afternoon in a Fairfax County house, police say.

The bodies of a mother, father and their two children – a high school sophomore and a middle schooler – were discovered around 12 p.m. inside their Herndon home on Point Rider Lane.

Officials were contacted by the employers of the two parents, who had failed to arrive at work for two days.

Neighbors say they had not seen or heard anything out of the ordinary leading up to the deaths.

Crime scene investigators and homicide detectives have been called to the home, but Fairfax police say there is no current threat to the public.
