Previously unseen Kennedy family photos released

WASHINGTON – In 1959, a Life magazine photographer met a young Massachusetts senator who would later become president.

The friendship between Mark Shaw and John F. Kennedy blossomed over the following four years as Kennedy ascended to the White House. During this time, Shaw was given rare access to Camelot.

Now, a 288-page book captures intimate moments between Kennedy, his wife Jackie and their children.

“The Kennedys: Photographs by Mark Shaw” shows the family vacationing in Nantucket, Hyannis Port, Merrywood, Va. and the Amalfi Coast. A barefoot first lady plays on the beach in one photo, while a pensive president strolls solo in another.

The book is available through Amazon for $75.
