’50 Shades’ author talks with Katie Couric about ‘crazy’ success

WASHINGTON – The author of “50 Shades of Grey,” the erotic novel that’s become a worldwide sensation, says the attention is “absolutely crazy.”

Erika Leonard, known as E.L. James, appeared on the new “Katie” show with Katie Couric on Monday to talk about her book, how it has affected her life and the people she’s met.

A movie deal has been struck, says James, and the novel has been translated into 45 languages.
