Visitor shot at Morgan State student center

A man visiting Morgan State University was shot at the student center Wednesday afternoon, Baltimore City police say.

Police say the incident posed no threat to students on campus.

University spokesman Clint Coleman told The Baltimore Sun that the shooting was "not random," adding that the victim and suspect likely knew each other.

The campus was briefly on lockdown. An alert posted on Morgan State’s website at 6:11 p.m. called an all clear, although evening classes were canceled.

The unidentified victim was shot at the university’s student center before 5 p.m. Baltimore City police say the victim was on campus to watch a sporting event and was not a student at the university.

Police are still looking for the shooter.
