WASHINGTON – Tourists flood D.C. in the summer, but that doesn’t necessarily mean there are more people in town.

A new study says the District leads the nation’s 10 largest cities for taking time off, The Washington Times reports. Three-quarters of the 2,500 residents polled have traveled at least once a year in the last five years, according to the survey.

San Francisco came just behind D.C. in second place, due to comparable household incomes. Chicago finished last, with only 55 percent of residents going away each year.
