WASHINGTON – A Jessup, Md. man has entered a guilty plea in a dramatic 2011 carjacking that left a woman and her baby on the side of the highway.

Last July, Elsya Samuels took her 20-month-old son in her arms and jumped out of the moving car, the carjacker was driving, onto the beltway in Bethesda, Md.

Terron White, 23, pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of kidnapping. White admitted he took Samuels and her son from a Baltimore gas station and sped down I- 95, sideswiping a police cruiser.

Both Samuels and her son made a full recovery.

Montgomery County State’s Attorney John McCarthy says he’ll ask for 40 years at sentencing in November.

Baltimore and Prince George’s county authorities have filed paperwork to prosecute White for crimes he committed in their jurisdictions after he is sentenced in Montgomery County.
