WTOP Talkback: Will you still see ‘Dark Knight’?

WASHINGTON – “The Dark Knight Rises” was one of the most anticipated films in recent memory, but now there’s a very dark shadow over the film.

Warner Brothers is dialing down its promotion of the movie, canceling Friday night’s red carpet premiere in Paris. It’s also canceling interviews with director Christopher Nolan and cast members.

As for safety, Metropolitan Police say their officers will be paying extra attention to movie theaters around D.C. this weekend

Montgomery County police will have an increased presence at theaters, although the department will not be calling in extra officers.

But are safety concerns still enough to keep you away from theaters?

Also, like many action films, “Dark Knight” has several scenes of public mayhem. Is that too much, too soon?

Were you planning to see the movie, and will you still?
