Gunman injures two, kills self at Waldorf home

WASHINGTON – One man is dead and two other people are seriously injured after a possible domestic incident in Waldorf, Md., Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred at about 5 a.m. in the 3500 block of Seagrape Court. Officers arrived on the scene and found a man and a woman — both in their 50s — lying in the road outside the home, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers realized the suspect was inside the home and tried to contact him. They entered the home several hours later and found a man who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Authorities say the shooter may have known the victims. WJLA reports that sources say the incident involved a son who shot his mother and father.

“It’s not real clear what prompted the shooting,” says Diane Richardson, a spokesperson for the Charles County Sheriff’s Office. “We know that there was an argument going on inside the house just prior to the shooting.”

The victims have serious and life-threatening injuries.
