Missing Md. man with dementia found

WASHINGTON – Police have located Charles Irving Griggs, 82.

Police and family thank the public, media outlets, and local listservs for publicizing this missing person case.

WASHINGTON – Montgomery County detectives are searching for a “critically missing man” from Silver Spring who police say is a diabetic, has high blood pressure and is in the early stages of dementia.

A Silver Alert has been issued for Charles Irving Griggs, 82, from the 11300 block of Kenyon Place. Griggs is 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs roughly 250 pounds and has gray hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a short-sleeved tan plaid button- down shirt, khakis and brown deck shoes.

Griggs was driving a 2010 Ford Fusion with Maryland tags “3AS0997.”

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call the 4th District Station at 240-773-5500 or the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000.
