Tree removal workers hit by truck in Maryland

WASHINGTON – Two members of a maintenance crew were hit by a truck as they directed traffic Thursday morning.

The men were part of a tree removal team working in the 20000 block of New Hampshire Avenue.

They were taken to a local hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck was cited for failure to control speed in a collision, negligent driving and failing to exercise due care to avoid a pedestrian collision.
