Choosing the right grill for the right price

WASHINGTON – You can spend anywhere from $60 to thousands of dollars for a gas grill.

Consumer Reports says the least expensive are portable gas grills and lower priced models have, at least, some stainless steel trim, side burners for side dishes and other perks once found only on the most expensive grills.

These medium-sized grills are your best buys at around $250:

When buying a new grill, Consumer Reports suggests keeping the basics in mind: smooth and sturdy cart design, even cooking ability, premium grates and maybe a grease tray.
