Bryce Harper baseball card costs more than a new car

WASHINGTON – Move over, Honus Wagner. There’s a new player in the hot baseball card scene.

Why wait until death for a baseball card to become valuable? Bryce Harper certainly doesn’t. His 2011 Bowman Chrome Prospects “Superfractor” card in “very good” condition is worth $24,999.99, according to one eBay vendor.

The Topps card is rated Gem Mint 9.5 by the Beckett Grading Service, the industry’s primary source for quality control.

And Harper won’t be making any friends on the team with this purchase. He now beats the more than $20,000 that Stephen Strasburg’s 2012 Bowman Superfractor sold for.
