D.C. area gas prices fall below $4

WASHINGTON – Gas prices have fallen for the past two weeks in the D.C. area, but they’re still above where they were a year ago.

AAA Mid-Atlantic’s weekly survey shows that the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in the D.C. metro area is now $3.98, down from $4.03 a week ago.

A year ago the average was $3.90 a gallon.

AAA says the national average for a gallon of gas in $3.86, down from $3.91 last week.

Some analysts believe that gas prices could fall below prices from a year ago in the next few weeks.
