BGE gives customers $100 for May utility bills

WASHINGTON – Look for some good news when you open your utility bill next month.

More than a million residential BGE customers are in for a nice surprise: a $100 credit on their bills.

It’s fallout from the merger between BGE’s parent Constellation Energy group and the Chicago-based Exelon Corporation. The big deal was completed last month and part of it is a bonus for customers next month.

The two energy giants agreed to provide the ratepayer relief to get the approval of Maryland energy regulators on the merger.

BGE residential customers should see the credit on their bills by the end of May. If a bill is under a hundred dollars, the remaining balance will get carried over to the next bill.
