Truck sits across I-95 lanes in Va., blocks all traffic

WASHINGTON – Northbound Interstate 95 has reopened following a tractor trailer blocked all lanes Thursday morning.

The truck, which did not overturn or jackknife, first started sitting across the roadway prior to the Prince William Parkway just after 6:15 a.m.

What caused the truck to block traffic is unclear, but a Fairfax County police officer tells WTOP Traffic he believes the driver pulled the truck over and did not apply the brakes, causing the truck to slip backward and become stuck in a roadside ditch.

Police cleared the truck just before 7 a.m.
