Parade closes some D.C. streets

WASHINGTON – The Emancipation Parade kicks off at 11 a.m. Monday at Freedom Plaza.

Participants are already lining up, and some streets are closed:

  • Streets around Freedom Plaza closed between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. – Including Pennsylvania Avenue, 13th Street, and 14th Street NW.
  • Pennsylvania Avenue will be closed between 3rd and 14th Streets NW from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • 12th Street NW will be closed between E Street and Constitution Avenue between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. for the fireworks display.
