WASHINGTON – Helicopters were seen flying over Silver Spring late Sunday evening and into the first hour of Monday morning.

Montgomery County Police tell WTOP they were responding to a domestic violence incident on Wayne Avenue involving an armed man who fled the scene before police arrived.

The helicopters have since ceased and police will resume the search in the morning.

Police declined to identify the suspect at this time but said they know who he is and what he looks like.
