Frederick flag to be flown at half-staff Wednesday

Mayor Randy McClement has ordered the City of Frederick flag to be flown at half-staff for 24 hours beginning at sunrise Wednesday and ending at sunrise on Thursday, according to a news release from the City of Frederick.

This is in memory of David “Kip” Koontz, of Frederick, who died on April 8. Koontz served as an Alderman for the City of Frederick from 2006 to 2009.

“We were all saddened to hear of Kip’s passing. He was a great advocate of the city and a strong supporter of local arts and theater. He will be missed,” McClement said.
