WASHINGTON – Here’s some breaking news: D.C. is for squares.
Despite a burgeoning food, booze and art scene, the nation’s capitol remains a town for nine to fivers that prefer suits to skinny jeans.
Travel + Leisure compiled a list of America’s top 20 best cities for hipsters using criteria such as live music, coffee bars and indie boutiques. And let’s not forget eco-friendly living and a general disdain for mainstream culture.
So who did make the cut?
Seattle comes in at No. 1, with the city’s love of all things techie and caffeinated. Portland, Ore. and San Francisco come in at two and three, respectively.
