Speed cameras coming to Greenbelt

GREENBELT, Md. – Speed cameras are coming to Greenbelt in Prince George’s County this summer.

Exactly where, and how many is still being worked out. Breakford Corp. will operate and install the cameras after doing research in the area.

Greenbelt Mayor Judith Davis tells the Gazette the city will decide where and how many cameras there will be.

Drivers going 12 mph or more over the speed limit will get $40 fines. The cameras will be live from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

There will be a 30 day warning period when the cameras are installed.
