WASHINGTON – Adele’s music is memorable, and so was her appearance at the Brit Awards on Tuesday night.
The singer picked up two awards — or Brits — for best British Female Solo Artist and British Album of the Year. But she’s also getting a lot of attention for raising her middle finger during the awards show — and no, it wasn’t to signal she’s No. 1.
Adele reportedly was a little upset that one of her acceptance speeches got cut off. She says the gesture was aimed at the show’s producers.
“I flung the middle finger at the suits, not the fans, I want people to know that,” she said, according to the Mirror. “I wasn’t swearing at the fans, but I didn’t get to complete my thank you speech.”
The producer of the show has apologized, saying the show was running late — apparently after a rambling speech from another artist.
