Bowie teen charged for threatening judge on Twitter

WASHINGTON – A high school student from Prince George’s County is facing murder-for-hire charges after threatening a judge on Twitter.

Court records show 16-year-old Garrett Alexander Bailey is charged as an adult with solicitation of murder, threatening an official, and illegal possession of a firearm.

A court official told Fox 5 News Bailey was in court on a break-in charge last week and was heard threatening Circuit Court Judge Herman C. Dawson.

Bailey, of Bowie, then posted more threats on Twitter.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 21.
