New York Ave. police accident stops traffic

WASHINGTON – An accident along New York Avenue stopped traffic in both directions around 6 p.m. Wednesday night.

D.C. police say the accident involved one of their own. A squad car flipped over and hit a minivan near the circle at West Virginia and Montana avenues, closing all lanes during the evening rush.

Neither the police officer nor the driver of the minivan were critically injured.
