Second victim dies after being struck by hit-and-run driver

OXON HILL, Md. – A second victim in Friday’s hit-and-run accident in Oxon Hill has died. Mildred Freeman, 62, succumbed to her injuries Saturday afternoon.

Michael Thomas, 55, died late Friday night.

Prince George’s County police say Thomas and Freeman were struck by an unknown gray compact vehicle around 7 a.m.

They were standing in the center turn lane of the 6200 block of Oxon Hill Road when they were hit. Police say the vehicle fled the scene, and that it should have front-end damage.

Both were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing.
