Police investigate shooting in Montgomery Village

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, Md. – A man is in critical condition after being shot in Montgomery Village late Saturday night.

Montgomery County police say a 20-year-old Gaithersburg man was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the northbound lanes of the 19100 block of Montgomery Village Avenue around 10 p.m. Saturday.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he remains in grave condition.

Police say he was walking south along Montgomery Village Avenue when he realized he was being shot at. He then fled a short distance, crossed the southbound lanes and collapsed, according to the preliminary investigation.

The investigation is still ongoing.
