UPDATE: Dec. 2, 12:02 p.m. – D.C. Police have released a photo of the robbery suspect.
The suspect is described as a clean shaven black male, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with a mole or tattoo on the left side of his face.
He was last seen wearing a brown or tan colored jacket and winter hat. He was also carrying a book bag.

WASHINGTON – A man tried to rob a bank Thursday morning — less than a block from a D.C. police station in Northwest.
The suspect tried to rob the SunTrust Bank branch in the 3400 block of Wisconsin Avenue around 10:40 a.m.
No one was injured and nothing was taken in the incident.
The bank sits a block from the Second District headquarters of the Metropolitan Police Department, which is located at the corner of Idaho Avenue and Newark Street.
The suspect is described as a black male, 25 to 35 years old, with a dirty brown jacket and a black hat. He was last seen heading south on Wisconsin Avenue.
The WTOP studio is located right across the street from the bank. D.C. police Chief Cathy Lanier was on her monthly “Ask the Chief” program at the time of the attempted robbery.
Lanier tells WTOP she had no knowledge of the incident until she left the studio.
