WASHINGTON – Heads up for anyone traveling around the National Zoo. Tuesday and Wednesday between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., Beach Drive will be closed between Porter Street and the Rock Creek Parkway. Crews will be doing some repairs and tunnel cleaning.

If you’re traveling from Silver Spring and points west, 16th Street is the next best alternate around that portion of Beach Drive. From Chevy Chase and points north, it may be better to make your way over to the George Washington Parkway and take one of the Potomac bridges to access Georgetown or downtown.
