WASHINGTON – It’s back to work for construction crews after the long holiday weekend — watch out for construction on Telegraph Road during the day on Tuesday and Wednesday. The 11th Street Bridge Project will also continue tonight with a closure on Anacostia Drive. Here are the details:

Telegraph Road construction

Starting at 6 a.m. Tuesday, traffic on Telegraph Road will be reduced to one lane until traffic is shifted onto the newly completed section of the bridge over Cameron Run. Paving work will take place during the day, and the left lane of southbound Telegraph Road should reopen by the afternoon rush hour. When the lane reopens, the bridge will be connected to the current southbound lanes of Telegraph Road. All ramps will remain open throughout the day.

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, the ramp from the Outer Loop Local lanes to Huntington Avenue will be closed until no later than Friday morning, Dec. 2. The ramps to North King’s Highway and Telegraph Road South will remain open.

Anacostia Drive closed for construction

On Monday from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., Anacostia Drive SE will be closed between Good Hope Road and Nicholson Street. All vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be blocked while crews complete a concrete pour on the 11th Street Bridge. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the closure will take place on Tuesday.
