LANDOVER, Md. – The Cowboys are keeping the pressure on the NFC East leading Giants, beating Washington 27-24 in overtime for their third straight win.
Dan Bailey booted a 39-yard field goal 9:21 into the extra period after Washington’s Graham Gano missed a try from 52 yards out.
The Redskins forced OT on a short TD pass with 14 seconds left in regulation before losing their sixth straight outing.
The game was one where the Redskins scored more points than the 20 they had in their three previous games combined.
“It’s not one of those games where we just got beat down,” said Washington’s Jabar Gaffney, who caught seven passes for 115 yards and a touchdown. “We gave it away. We gave that one away. We’ve got to learn how to win again.”
