Watch out for these sneaky bank fees

WASHINGTON — Consumers recently forced banks to abandon new debit card fees, but some financial institutions are still coming up with ways to turn a profit.

The New York Times reports that banks are quietly raising costs or adding new ones.

If you lose your Bank of America debit card, the replacement fee is now $5, for example. Want it right away? Then you will have to pay $20.

Cash wired to your account at TD Bank will cost $15 starting in December. And Chase and Citgroup are looking into boosting prices on entry level checking accounts.

Banks are trying to make up for $12 billion in profit lost because of new federal regulations.
