LOS ANGELES – Wait until you’ve landed to wrap your holiday gifts, if you plan to fly through Los Angeles.
The Transportation Security Administration says it will have a zero tolerance policy at LAX for carry-on items in wrapping paper.
The announcement comes after a recent traveler tried smuggling marijuana inside a wrapped gift.
KNX 1070 in Los Angeles says airline screeners will not hesitate to open your gifts.
If your gift is a baseball bat, pool cue or bow-and-arrow set, you’ll have to have it checked before it goes on board.
