Travel service helps seniors fly stress-free

WASHINGTON — Putting your 80-year-old father on an airplane can be a very stressful task — will he have trouble at check-in? Will his titanium hip set off the security alarms?

A new company works to ease those worries by offering travel companions to those in need who can assist all types of travelers in navigating air travel.

Flying companions is a service of experienced air travelers and former airline employers who will travel with seniors, those with disabilities and anxious travelers to help ease the stress of travel. A flying companion can help plan trips by researching airfare and making travel arrangements, escort travelers to and from the airport, coordinate check-in and carry onboard luggage, to name a few.
